Today in 5th grade we...

- Learned how to 'set the stage' when completing descriptive writing. Then we started planning a descriptive paragraph we will write about how someone would feel if they were to encounter a wild animal in a Canadian forest. 

- Continued working with new words during Daily 5. 

- Learned how to add fractions with like denominators. 

- Finished our unit about Ancient Egypt by learning about how and why they created the artwork we now know as ancient Egyptian art. 

- Started our Science unit about natural resources. 

- Decorated for Christmas.
