Today in 5th grade we...
- Reviewed figurative language, and saw how it was used to create imagery. We then read a passage of Hatchet to identify which senses the imagery play upon.
- Created an interactive tool that helped us to identify prime and composite numbers as well as factors and multiples.
- Explored the empires that ruled Mesopotamia after the fall of the Sumerians and how each one of them paved the way for modern civilizations.
- Saw how humans can change ecosystems. We then connected this lesson to what is happening currently in Indonesia with the burning forests.
- Practiced for our language festival.
Homework:
Social Studies - Finish section 4 of your study guide
Math - Finish "what I learned", "proof", and "reflection" for your math journal
